MAXXI Museum

Rome, Italy

Nuns Healing Hearts, Lisa Kristine’s photographs of the Talitha Kum anti-trafficking network of religious sisters, ran at the MAXXI Corner in Rome from March 1 to 6, 2022, with free admission. Talitha Kum says it was the first time the show opened to the Italian public, after earlier showings at the Vatican, the United Nations in New York, and Tokyo.

Opening speakers included Giovanna Melandri, president of Fondazione MAXXI, and Gabriella Bottani, Talitha Kum’s international coordinator. Lisa sent a video message, and seven short videos directed by Lia Beltrami premiered at the opening.

On July 29, 2022, ahead of the UN World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, Talitha Kum launched a virtual tour in five languages (English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian). It has 28 photographs taken in Thailand, Italy, Mexico, Guatemala, and the United States.
